Hurricane Irene

Well, we made it through.....we were expected to get high winds and flooding and we were prepared to have no power for the day. As it turned out, we only lost power for about an hour early on and no water damage, Thank God! However, I guess North Adams, Adams and Vermont got hit pretty hard. Hopefully they will be able to recover from it soon.....

Less than a week...

Zak leaves for Wesleyan University in less than a week. So I have resorted to reading articles about letting go...one said to "Practice letting go...."
~ Let's just say I practiced Hard last night.

My sister and her family live in Chicago and every summer come home to visit. They have been driving the past two years and even bringing their little dog Tanner, too. Our kids really get along great and it is always a treat to have them here!!

The Bronx Zoo

Last Thursday was my 47th birthday. And because we are not taking a vacation this year because Zak is getting ready to go to school, we planned a day trip to the Bronx Zoo. We got there right when it opened and walked and walked and walked....It was a great day and a special thank you to the Gorilla and the Baboon for making my day!! Belly laughs, I tell you!!!!
